Performance selection and principles of bearing lubricating grease-2

2. Performance selection of lubricating oil:

①. Viscosity - represents the internal frictional resistance in a flowing liquid.

     It is the most important performance indicator and the main basis for selecting lubricating oil.

②. Oiliness, also known as lubricity, characterizes the adsorption performance of metal surfaces to polar molecules in oil.

     Good oiliness and small friction coefficient.

③. The freezing point reflects the low-temperature working performance of lubricating oil.

④. The flash point reflects the high-temperature working performance of lubricating oil.

3. Principles for selecting lubricating oil:

①. When working under high pressure or impact or variable load conditions, high viscosity oil should be used;

②. When the rotation speed is high, oil with low viscosity should be selected to reduce friction loss;

③. When the working temperature is high, oil with high viscosity should be used, because the viscosity will decrease as the temperature increases.

4. Grease performance selection:

①. Penetration - represents the consistency of grease, similar to the viscosity of oil;

②. Dropping point - the high temperature resistance of grease.

5. Principles for selecting grease:

①. For working environments with moisture, use calcium grease;

②. For high working temperatures, use sodium-based grease;

③. If there is water vapor and the working temperature is high, lithium-based grease should be used.
